This book is Eric Wilson’s first in the series of his “Jerusalem’s Undead Trilogy”. I read a few of the reviews on this book and the ‘experts’ were  a bit critical of his writing style. Folks, this one is a fun and entertaining read. It is based on some fact, some legend and some pure fiction. I enjoyed the story line and even the writing style. That’s the point after all, isn’t it? Pure entertainment. The story twists the legends of vampires and biblical history. Thoroughly enjoyable and captivating, I didn’t want to put it down as the story unfolded.  I look forward to the remainder of the series.

The story of a young Romanian girl, Gina, who by some twist of fate has some importance to the Collectors. They are the vampires of the story, but they are more than just vampires. Like any great “Good vs. Evil” story the Collectors are opposed by the Nistarim. The Nistarim are the protectors of mankind and also appear to have some interest in Gina. Gina’s story leads us from Romania to the United States and back again always closely followed by the Collectors. I can hardly wait for the remainder of the story to unfold. Why is Gina so important to both? Who will prevail?

Eric Wilson did a terrific job of researching and melding history into this story. You will enjoy this book and like me, will be anticipating the next.
